Announcing TEDx: Encouraging Local, Independently Organized TED Events
TED today announces TEDx, a new way for local communities to create and host their own unofficial TED-style events. TEDx events, where x = "independently organized TED event," feature videotaped TEDTalks and live speakers, shared with a live audience in a community setting. TED will support approved organizers with a free toolset of detailed guidelines and tips, plus connection with other organizers and promotion on TED.com. The TEDx program will enable schools, businesses and groups across the globe to create their own events for promoting conversation and connection around great ideas.
TED Conferences Announces 25 TED Fellows for TEDGlobal in Oxford
Organizers of the TED Conference introduced today the 25 new TED Fellows who will participate in TED's annual international conference, TEDGlobal. These Fellows have been invited to join the TED community by attending TEDGlobal 2009, to be held in Oxford, UK, July 21-24. The 25 TEDGlobal Fellows join the 40 TED Fellows selected for the TED2009 Conference, held in February in Long Beach, where the TED Fellows program was announced. The principal goal of the TED Fellows program is to empower TED Fellows to effectively communicate their work to the TED community and to the world.

Screenings of Black Mold Exposure are scheduled for May 12 in San Diego, CA, at Landmark's La Jolla Village Cinemas, May 14 in Cambridge, MA, at Landmark's Kendall Square Cinema, May 19 in Seattle, WA, at Landmark's Metro Cinema's, May 26 in Houston, TX, at Landmark's River Oaks Theatre, and June 16 in Chicago, IL at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema. The film was touted as "Extraordinary" by Ted Gerdes of Gerdes Law, and was received exceptionally well at the Black Carpet World Premiere Event in Dallas in early April.
